Nicole Devarenne to join 2020 Arthur C Clark Awards Judging Panel

Congratulations to Centre member, Dr Nicole Devarenne, who is to join the judging panel for the next Arthur C Clarke Award. It will be the 35th Award, for books published in the UK during 2020. The first winner (in 1987) was Margaret Atwood, for The Handmaid’s Tale. Nicole will be one of five judges, nominated by the British Science Fiction Association and the Science Fiction Foundation.

The award for books published in 2019 has not been announced yet, because of delays due to coronavirus, but the announcement will be coming soon. There’ll be around 120 books to read, and Nicole hopes to donate some of them to the Science Fiction library once the award has been made.
