Dan Richards’ first book has been a Writing Practice and Study staple since it was published in 2016. His new volume of writing about writing about far flung places also has the word “classic” written all over it. He’ll be reading from the critically acclaimed Outpost and talking about his work as a writer’s writer who also is very much at home in the wide world of adventure and popular culture and art and…good old fashioned fun.

Well established Scots poets, Alan Riach and Bashabi Fraser, will be reading from published work and sharing some new poems with us when they team up together for a special double act. Both come from a background of scholarship and university teaching which brings to their writing a stringent sense of form and critical accuity. Hear them converse with each other about what makes a poem a good poem, and what makes a poem a finished poem… As well as share tips on good practice and the interface of creativity and critical thinking
