PhD researcher Success – Coleridge Conference at Cambridge.

Congratulations to one of our doctoral researchers.

Adam James Cuthbert (PhD English) has been awarded a bursary to attend the Biennial Coleridge Conference 2018, which will be held at Jesus College, Cambridge in August 2018. His paper ‘William Wordsworth and the Spectacle of
Memory: Coleridgean Influences on the Stream of Consciousness in The Prelude’, will explore literary connections between Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Wordsworth related to the formation of the stream of consciousness as an intermedial narrative technique in Wordsworth’s The Prelude.

Mr Cuthbert is currently working on his thesis, ‘James Joyce: 19th Century Intermediality and the Spectacle of Memory’, under the supervision of Dr Keith Williams and Dr Daniel Cook (both School of English).
