Congratulations to Caitlin McDonald, whose PhD thesis was successfully passed Friday 27 October, subject to minor revision. Caitlin’s thesis was titled ‘”The Good German?” A Reconsideration of the Novels and Screenplays of Emeric Pressburger’. Her external examiner was Dr Andrew Moore of Manchester Metropolitan University, who is a leading international expert in the films of this period. Her principal supervisor was Brian Hoyle, with Keith Williams acting as second supervisor.
