The Centre for Critical and Creative Cultures has had two successful PhD vivas to celebrate this week.
On Monday, Faye Harland was examined for her doctoral research on ‘Gendering the Visual Katherine Mansfield and Visual Culture’. Faye’s external was the president of the International Katherine Mansfield Society, who passed Faye with minimal corrections and with a strong recommendation for publication.
On Tuesday, Mark Brown, was examined by Graeme Saunders, Professor of Theatre Studies at the University of Birmingham. Mark’s project was on ‘Modern Scottish Theatre: The Creation of a Tradition’. Mark was also passed with minimal corrections and with a strong recommendation for publication.
So hearty congratulations to both for two magnificent pieces of work, which were a credit to themselves, their supervisors and the School, and all the best for their post-doctoral publications and professional futures!
